THE
CHARLES RAY MEMORIAL SAFETY AWARD
Mr. Charles Ray was as dedicated of an employee as a company could ask for.
His attendance and work ethic were impeccable, and he had a genuine desire to mentor new hires and incumbent employees with regards to working safely. After 30 years of dedicated service at CCI, Mr. Ray passed away due to natural causes on November 9th, 2022.
In the wake of Mr. Ray’s death, Carolina Canners was there to support his family during their time of bereavement. As a way to both honor and memorialize Mr. Ray, Carolina Canners created the Charles Ray Memorial Safety Award.
Each year we ask employees to vote on a peer that they feel embodies safety at Carolina Canners. The annual winner(s) of this award are presented with both a monetary award as well as the distinction of having their name placed on the award plaque that is prominently displayed at Carolina Canners in Cheraw (SC).
